Changan debuted seven models in Paris and announced 43 vehicles for global markets
At the Paris Motor Show, Chinese automaker Changan held a large-scale presentation, unveiling seven new vehicles at once, and shared its global development plans. The main highlight of the display was the Avatr Concept T09 concept car from the company's premium sub-brand.
In addition to the concept, production and pre-production models from several of the brand's lineups debuted at the Paris stand. The Deepal brand showcased plug-in hybrids — the S07 PHEV crossover and a right-hand drive modification of the S05 PHEV. The core brand was represented by the CS55 PLUS BlueCore HEV crossover with a hybrid powertrain. Furthermore, the manufacturer brought three models from its young sub-brand Nevo: the Q05 and Q06 crossovers, as well as the A06 sedan.
The presentation in Paris was part of a long-term international expansion strategy dubbed the Vast Ocean Plan. Under this program, by 2030 Changan expects to sell between 1.5 and 1.8 million vehicles outside of China annually. To achieve these targets, the automaker plans to launch 43 new models with various powertrain types on the global market.
A significant role in the strategy is allocated to the European region. By 2030, the manufacturer plans to open more than 1,000 sales and service locations in Europe, hire over 1,200 local specialists, and is also considering establishing local production.
Currently, Changan has already established official representative offices in the UK, Spain, and Italy, while the total number of European subsidiaries has reached eight with a workforce of more than 800 people, with local specialists making up 80% of the staff. By the end of 2026, the brand's sales network will encompass nearly 400 centers across 15 countries, and by 2027 it will expand to 650 locations. To ensure an uninterrupted supply of automotive components to customers, regional spare parts warehouses have been opened in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and the UK, with a parts availability rate of over 97%. A unified European call center has begun operations in Romania. Portuguese footballer Luís Figo has become an official brand ambassador, and Changan has also signed a partnership agreement with the Portugal national football team.
In parallel, the brand continues to develop its presence in the Russian market: by the end of 2026, Changan intends to expand its local lineup through scheduled updates to current models and the introduction of new sedans and crossovers.
