Changan Star II gallery (2007–2012)
The second generation Changan Star 2 gained a refined body structure, increased payload capacity, and more fuel-efficient gasoline engines for daily use.
The second generation Changan Star 2 was produced between 2007 and 2012. Maintaining a durable rear-wheel-drive setup with a leaf-sprung rear axle, the redesigned body featured an elevated roofline and an extended wheelbase. Product offerings included passenger minivans, cargo vans, and flatbed pickup trucks. Power units consisted of 1.0-liter and 1.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engines outputting between 60 and 98 horsepower, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission. Cabin comfort saw improvements through upgraded sound insulation, available manual air conditioning, and enhanced heater performance. Cargo volume expanded considerably, with payload ratings rising up to 700 kilograms. Simple mechanics ensured straightforward maintenance and ready availability of spare parts. The Star 2 became a popular choice for small business commercial operations and was exported throughout Asian, Middle Eastern, and Latin American territories.
