The third-generation Cadillac Fleetwood (1993–1996) returned to full-size rear-wheel-drive body-on-frame construction on the 225-inch D-body chassis.
The third-generation Cadillac Fleetwood was produced from 1993 through 1996 on GM's heavy-duty rear-wheel-drive D-body frame architecture. Replacing the Cadillac Brougham, it held the title of the longest regular production passenger car built in North America, stretching 225 inches long. Styled with sweeping aerodynamic lines and traditional rear wheel skirts, the line included an upgraded Fleetwood Brougham trim featuring a full vinyl roof and custom leather seating.
Power initially came from a 5.7-liter L05 V8 (185 hp) in 1993, upgraded in 1994 to GM's high-performance 5.7-liter LT1 V8 producing 260 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Power traveled through a 4L60-E electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with traction control, ABS, dual airbags, and automatic rear level control, it boasted a impressive 7,000-lb towing capacity.
