Buick Park Avenue I (C-body) gallery (1990–1996)

The first standalone generation of the Buick Park Avenue was introduced for the 1991 model year in 1990, replacing the Electra designation and serving as the brand's flagship full-size front-wheel-drive luxury sedan built on the GM C-body architecture. The model was offered exclusively as a four-door sedan featuring aerodynamically smooth body styling inspired by the 1989 Buick Essence concept car. Under the hood, it featured the renowned 3.8-liter naturally aspirated Buick 3800 V6 engine paired with a 4-speed electronically controlled 4T60-E automatic transmission. In 1992, the high-performance Park Avenue Ultra trim joined the lineup, equipped with an Eaton M62 supercharger boosting output above 205 horsepower and later to 225 horsepower with the updated Series II architecture. Over its production cycle, the first generation received minor aesthetic revisions, revised grilles, standard dual front airbags, refined suspension tuning with Gran Touring and Dynaride packages, and upgraded electronic climate controls. The model was primarily marketed in the United States and Canada while also being officially exported to selected European and Middle Eastern markets.
