Introduced in 2018, the third-generation BMW Z4 (G29) returned to its core heritage by swapping the outgoing hardtop for a compact, electrically operated soft-top roof. Co-developed alongside Toyota’s GR Supra on the modular CLAR architecture, the G29 features a shorter wheelbase relative to its wide track width, enhancing agility and lowering the overall weight by around 50 kilograms. Its sharp design, featuring stacked LED headlights and mesh kidney grilles, gives the two-seater a commanding athletic stance.

Powering the G29 are BMW's latest modular B48 2.0-liter four-cylinder and B58 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged petrol engines. The flagship Z4 M40i produces up to 382 horsepower, sending drive to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic or an optional six-speed manual introduced in 2024. Equipped with an M Sport differential, adaptive suspension, and BMW Live Cockpit Professional, the G29 balances crisp open-air track performance with daily driver tech sophistication.
