Arriving in 2014, the F16-generation X6 evolved the groundbreaking SAC formula with sharper character lines and enhanced aerodynamics. The front fascia introduced headlights directly joining the signature kidney grilles, while prominent rear wheel arch creases emphasized its rear-wheel-drive bias. Intelligent lightweight construction incorporating high-strength steels and plastic front fenders shed up to 40 kg compared to its predecessor for better efficiency and dynamic handling.

Inside, the F16 offered luxury enhancements such as Dakota or Nappa leather dashboard wraps, a larger iDrive screen, and expanded Driving Assistant safety suites. Powertrains ranged from the dependable N55 six-cylinder to the muscular N63 V8, alongside the formidable tri-turbo M50d diesel generating 381 horsepower. The F16 successfully maintained BMW's dominance in the full-size luxury coupe-SUV segment globally.
