About the model
The first-generation Audi RS5 on the B8 platform launched in 2010, featuring a high-revving naturally aspirated V8 engine paired with a dual-clutch transmission and permanent quattro all-wheel drive. Offered as a coupe and later joined by a practical five-door liftback body style, the car received a mid-cycle facelift that brought redesigned lighting and revised chassis tuning.
The second generation on the B9 architecture transitioned to a twin-turbocharged V6 engine mated to a multi-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Built on updated modular underpinnings, the lineup maintained both the coupe and Sportback liftback silhouettes while benefiting from structural weight savings and a lower center of gravity.
A subsequent facelift updated the exterior styling, infotainment technology, and driving dynamic systems. Throughout both generations, the RS5 has served as a practical yet focused grand tourer suited for everyday usability.
