Volvo Boasts New Sensus Connect System
Cloud-based system called Sensus connect is the hallmark of Volvo’s booth at Consumer Electronics Show 2014.
Sensus Connect is a system which helps the driver buy a parking ticket without leaving the vehicle, plays music and offers various establishments on the way. The novelty of the invention is the support of built-in connectivity.
The system is connected with drivers’ smartphones enabling them to use the latter as a remote to control climate condition within the cabin. Navigation of Sensus Connect is mated with Wikipedia and the parking tool is called Park & Pay.
The new package of the system will be ready to install on the recently released Volvo cars in four months, including update packages for the current users.
David Holecek, Volvo’s brand management who dealt with developing Sensus Connect, claims that the system was made to bring a pleasing experience based on intuitive use. He underlines that the task of system developers was to deliver exactly the services the drivers needs instead of mindlessly packing the cars with another high-tech tool. Holecek concludes that the update of the applications is easy and seamless.
