Hybrid Polestar Performance Vehicles are planned by Volvo
The Volvo S90 has been presented. Now the automaker is thinking about a high-performance Polestar version.
After the automaker has acquired Polestar, it is not strange that it wants the performance treatment across the whole line-up. This supposes the development of a V90 Polestar and S90 Polestar.
The CEO of the Swedish automaker confirmed in his conversation with Autocar that they want to use Polestar more on performance vehicles within the range. The CEO suggested that next Polestar offerings will include hybrid cars. The company is going to focus Polestar on electrification.
The CEO’s thoughts were supported by the brand’s R&D boss. He recollected Tesla’s success in legitimizing electric performance. Now the producer wishes to offer high performance without any regrets. Taking advantage of electric motors is one way to do that.
Even though European customers will choose a high-performance wagon rather than a sedan, the producer knows that the American clients prefer performance sedan cars (for example, the AMG and BMW M3 vehicles). The Polestar V60 and S60 are sold in the United States. Though, their quantities are limited. Volvo is going to bring 265 Polestar vehicles to America for the next model year. Agree, this is more than the 120 cars it has brought this year.
