Volkswagen will recall 11M Vehicles in the Coming Days
Volkswagen is going to announce a recall for 11 million cars issued with the diesel emissions scandal in the days to come.
The CEO of the brand assures that they have a “comprehensive” scheme to refit the 11 million cars with the illegal device. We remind you that the software helps the vehicles to cheat at emissions tests. Probably, the automaker will state all the points of the plan this week.
All the cars equipped with the company’s Euro 5 EA 189 diesel engines are considered to be affected. These are the 2009 to 2015 TDI VW Golf, Passat, Getta and Beetle along with the 2009-2015 Audi A3 in America.
The issued cars are equipped with cheating devices. They can automatically cut down on emissions when the car is undergoing tests. Under the conditions of regular usage, such TDI engines are proved to emit 10 to 40 times more than the number of the allowed NOx is.
There are 5 million cars with a VW badge, 1.2 million Skoda cars, 2.1 million of Audis and 1.8 million of light commercial cars among the affected ones.
The CEO is aware of a long trudge and lots of hard work the company is facing. He also understands that there will be setbacks on their way.
