Volkswagen is planning to Shorten Offering Life Cycle
Volkswagen has decided to adopt a five-year offering cycle for meeting the demands of their customers.
Joerg Sommer, the vice president of marketing and strategy of the automaker in the United States stated in Auto Express that the program was cut from 7 to 5 years as the trial of better compliance with the habit s of their customers. Before the new generation arrival (which will happen in the next five years) the innovated outlook will be available at the markets.
The source does not state if the same initiative will be done to other brands in the Volkswagen range. There are chances that Audi, Seat, Skoda and the other members of the family will gain the same life cycle. Moreover, they share a big part of details which will preserve the costs.
Joerg Sommer continued that the automaker is going to invest nearly $7 billion in innovated offerings and facilities in America during the future four years. They are going to create a production variant of the Cross Blue concept. A SUV with seven seats has been already included in the launch of 2016. It will be available on the American market. Nevertheless, the variant for Europe is probably planned as a more economical Skoda SUV which is going to be launched in 2016.
