Another Cheating from VW: V6 Diesel Engine
VW has stated that the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel six-cylinder engine also falls under cheating on EPA diesel emissions testing.
The unit equips different VW and Audi Porsche offerings. There is the Cayenne SUV among them. The last one is under a stop-sale order now. At the beginning the German producer denied the EPA charges. Though, now it confessed that 75,000 cars equipped with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 unit are incorrectly fitted with auxiliary emissions controls. We remind you, that besides this, the automaker has 482,000 cars fitted with the VW Group’s 2.0-litre diesel V4 engine revealed by the EPA this September.
The companies have right to use auxiliary emissions controls so long as they are not hidden during the tests. The German automaker did not notify the use of the auxiliary emissions controls. It did not manage to inform regulators properly. The functionability of the auxiliary emissions controls has not been announced, but the technology is believed to warm the details of the exhaust set-up and reduce emissions. The catalytic converter is able to perform better warm.
Nobody knows how VW is going to cope with its diesel issues.
