Skoda Fabia fourth-generation officially presented
Skoda Fabia debuted a new generation, the fourth. The predecessor was sold seven years, so it's time for the model to change a generation.
In Europe, the novelty will appear this summer. The car got the latest MQB-A0 architecture that the Volkswagen Polo and Audi A1 have changed in appearance, added dimensions, and brought new equipment.
The car is distinguished by horizontal taillights, where additional sections appeared on the luggage door and front optics with a radiator grille.
The model became more spacious with a larger trunk (380 liters, +50 liters, with folded rear seats - 1190 liters, +40 liters).
The length of Fabia added 111 mm, to 4108 mm, width - 48 mm, to 1780 mm, and wheelbase increased by 94 mm, to 2564 mm.
The car's interior now has round ventilation deflectors on the sides, and the central deflectors are now under the multimedia screen. The diagonal display in the vehicle can be 6.5, 8.0, or 9.2 inches. The base Fabia has an analog "dashboard," the expensive options - a 10.25-inch digital dashboard.
The list of equipment of the base car consists of six airbags and a stabilization system. More expensive versions will receive a heated steering wheel and windshield, panoramic top, 2-zone "climate," and adaptive "cruise," plus airbags for second-row passengers.
In Europe, Skoda Fabia of the fourth generation will appear only with petrol engines: 1.0 MPI with 65 or 80 hp, 1.0-liter "turbo-troika" with 95 or 110 hp and "turbo-four" 1.5 liters, developing 150 "horses," having a function of switching off half of the cylinders. Transmission is a 5- or 6-speed manual, plus a 7-speed DSG robot.
