Questionable future of the Hyundai sports cars
Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai UK boss has declared that the South Korean company is still only observing the market of the sports cars.
Previous year Allan Rushforth, at that period, Hyundai Europe CEO the now departed mentioned that the producer is thinking about a brand-new compact sports car that will be able to contest against the Audi TT and Mazda MX-5 s. Talking with Autocar, Whitehorn claimed that it’s very difficult to make sports cars successful business case these days.
“Not that many people earn money out of sports vehicles,” Whitehorn declared. “This market is decreasing dramatically, and even companies with long tradition and a good product are struggling. Aside from the Audi TT and Mazda MX-5, it is a tight place to be.”
Previously rumors said that Hyundai could create a completely new sports car, made by its N performance brand. Yet, the company decided to focus on making “warmer” models of its existing versions.
“If you can make vehicles that add light to the rest of your range, the case is that much stronger,” claimed Whitehorn.
