Unleashing the Power: AWD-Swapped Corvette Dominates the Quarter-Mile
Unleashing the Power
In the realm of high-performance Corvettes, the E-Ray may have taken the spotlight as the first all-wheel drive model from the factory. However, it is not the only 'Vette that boasts four driven wheels. Enter the C3-generation Corvette drag car, which has undergone a remarkable transformation utilizing the AWD drivetrain from a GMC Typhoon.
A Racing Machine Extraordinaire
Expertly crafted by Polish speed shop VTG, this Corvette has been specifically designed to dominate quarter-mile strips. The Mk1Kieran YouTube channel recently captured this beast in action at Santa Pod Raceway in the United Kingdom, showcasing its awe-inspiring looks and guttural sounds.
The Ultimate Powerhouse
Under the hood lies a monstrous 6.2-liter Chevy small block V-8 engine equipped with forged pistons, forged rods, and aftermarket heads from Brodix. It is impossible to miss the enormous turbocharger protruding from the hood. Additionally, Nitrous has been added for an extra punch. The combined setup is rumored to unleash over 1900 horsepower, all channeled to the wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
Record-Breaking Performance
During its visit, this tire-smoking Corvette put on quite a spectacle, commencing with an impressive four-wheel burnout to warm up the Hoosier slicks. It went on to achieve a remarkable quarter-mile time of 7.34 seconds, reaching a top speed of 192.9 miles per hour. These figures are quite commendable, especially considering that the platform used is over 30 years old.
