Toyota Supra's Final Edition Commands a Steep Price Tag

Toyota Supra A90 Final Edition: A Premium Farewell

Toyota has set a hefty price for the Supra A90 Final Edition, marking the end of its current generation. This special edition not only signifies the culmination of the Supra line but also introduces a notable increase in performance and several mechanical enhancements. Limited to just 300 units across Europe and Japan, the exclusivity of this model adds to its allure. With Europe's tightening emission standards, future models like this may become a rarity.

Pricing and Market Position

In Germany, the final version is priced at €142,800, nearly double the cost of the standard 3.0-liter Supra starting at €73,250 and the base 2.0-liter model at €63,250. The pricing is accurate, with the model in France even slightly more expensive at €144,000, where availability is controlled through a lottery system.

For comparison, the fully equipped BMW M4 Competition xDrive remains less expensive than the Supra A90 Final Edition in Germany. Other rivals include the Lotus Emira with a V6 engine, the Porsche 911 Carrera T starting at €141,700, and options like the Ferrari 458 or Audi R8 with naturally aspirated V-10 engines available on platforms like Mobile.de.

Despite its high price, the Supra’s final edition is still more affordable compared to Renault's Alpine A110 R Ultime, which demands an astronomical €330,000, making it the priciest four-cylinder new car on the market.

Enhanced Performance and Features

The Supra A90 Final Edition upgrades the B58 engine to deliver 429 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, surpassing BMW’s S58 engine in performance. This turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine is the most powerful iteration used by BMW to date.

Additional enhancements include larger Brembo front brakes, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, and an adjustable KW suspension. The limited run of 300 units also features staggered Gazoo Racing wheels—19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear—fitted with wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires by 10%.

The design is further refined with a new aerodynamic package consisting of a carbon fiber front spoiler and a rear swan-neck wing. A lightweight hood duct is included, removable for track days requiring extra cooling. The car is exclusively available with a six-speed manual transmission and incorporates the Supra GT4’s aluminum rear subframe mount. Interior luxuries feature carbon fiber Recaro bucket seats with red seatbelts and ample Alcantara accents.

While Toyota has yet to release a similar Final Edition for the United States, it is anticipated that a highly exclusive and expensive version will eventually make its way to the American market.
