Porsche Launches Electric Macan GTS Model

This year, Porsche's electric Macan is outselling its gasoline counterpart, partly due to the discontinuation of the internal combustion engine (ICE) version in the European Union. The competition between the electric and gas models won't last long, as the ICE Macan is scheduled to be phased out globally by 2026. Porsche is developing a new combustion-engine crossover under a different name, set to debut in 2028. In the meantime, the Zuffenhausen plant is expanding its electric offerings with a fifth variant.

The Macan GTS Electric, featuring all-wheel drive, sits between the 4S and Turbo models by adopting the Turbo’s electric motor. Porsche states it delivers a combined 509 horsepower, which increases to 563 hp with launch control activated. With 704 lb-ft of immediate torque, the new GTS accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, trailing the Turbo by half a second.

Enhanced Performance Features

The GTS comes standard with the Sport Chrono Package, Torque Vectoring Plus, and an air suspension system specifically tuned for this model. It boasts the lowest center of gravity among all Macan Electric variants and offers an optional rear-wheel steering feature. Porsche has also refined the dampers and sway bars to provide a more dynamic driving experience.

Striking Design and Customization

In line with other GTS models, the electric Macan features black exterior accents and tinted headlights and taillights. Porsche enhances the package with a standard Sport Design Package, which includes redesigned front and rear fascias. Initially exclusive to the GTS, this design package will be available for other Macan Electric models starting summer 2026.

The GTS stands out with robust rocker panels and introduces Lugano Blue to the color lineup, alongside Carmine Red and Chalk. Customers can choose from 15 standard colors or approximately 60 additional options through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Standard 21-inch wheels are available with an upgrade to 22-inch wheels finished in Anthracite Gray.

Continuing Porsche’s tradition of offering extensive customization, a new GTS Interior Package is available. This package includes contrast stitching that matches the exterior paint for colors such as Carmine Red, Slate Gray Neo, or Lugano Blue, and adds a GTS logo to the steering wheel and instrument cluster. The interior package is only available when paired with carbon fiber trim.

Porsche is already accepting orders for the electric Macan GTS in the United States, starting at $103,000, which is $6,500 less than the 630-horsepower Turbo model. For comparison, the six-cylinder Macan GTS introduced a decade ago is priced $10,000 lower. Deliveries are expected to begin next spring.
