Exclusive 911 GT3 Honors Porsche's Visionary Founder
Ferdinand Alexander Porsche holds a revered place in automotive history, particularly in Zuffenhausen, as the mastermind behind the iconic 911. Beyond that, he was instrumental in creating standout models like the 904 Carrera GTS and the 804 Formula 1 racer. Marking what would have been his 90th birthday, Porsche has introduced an extraordinary tribute to his legacy.
Introducing the 911 GT3 F.A. Porsche, a model inspired by the G-Body 911 that Ferdinand himself drove during the 1980s. This special edition is finished in a bespoke F.A. Green metallic shade, reimagining the Oak Green metallic of the original car. Inside, the cabin features a distinctive F.A. Grid-Weave fabric, a contemporary take on the classic houndstooth pattern, complemented by a wooden gear shift knob for a nostalgic touch.
One of the unique highlights of this GT3 is the exclusive use of Porsche's sophisticated Sport Classic wheels, which include custom center caps emblazoned with the traditional Porsche crest. The doors showcase a "72" roundel, paying homage to the year Ferdinand founded Porsche Design, while gold-plated badges decorate the rear decklid, topped with a "90" emblem celebrating his milestone age.
Only 90 units of this commemorative model will be produced, each priced at $387,000 before additional fees. Buyers will also receive a matching Chronograph 1 watch and a coordinated Weekender bag to complete the package.
Ferdinand’s son, Mark Porsche, who played a key role throughout the project, will be among the proud owners. He remarked, "I believe my father would have truly appreciated this exclusive 911. Many elements in this project reflect his personal preferences and style."
The F.A. Porsche edition is built on the 911 GT3 Touring Package platform, powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine delivering 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. This power is directed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, offering a pure driving experience.
For enthusiasts with a passion for Porsche heritage and a $387,000 budget, this rare 911 stands as a remarkable opportunity to own a piece of automotive history.
