Farewell to Volvo's Beloved Wagon

The End of an Era

Once upon a time, Volvo's performance division, Polestar, introduced the V60 Polestar, a beloved station wagon that revived Volvo's reputation. In 2020, a more powerful hybrid version, the V60 Polestar Engineered, was released, but unfortunately, it didn't receive the same level of appreciation.

The Farewell

After four years and a lukewarm response, Volvo has officially discontinued the V60 Polestar Engineered in the US. While it may not have lived up to its predecessor, its departure still brings a sense of loss. Volvo confirmed the end of production, expressing that the V60 Cross Country and V90 Cross Country models will remain available in the US.

The Powerhouse

The V60 Polestar Engineered combined a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a plug-in-hybrid battery assist, boasting an impressive 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque. Its acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.3 seconds made it a force to be reckoned with.

The Future

Although Volvo initially proclaimed a transition to a fully electric lineup, they have revised their plans. Instead, Volvo aims to release numerous electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles over the next decade, including their first electric sedan, the ES90.

We bid farewell to one of our favorites, the V60 Polestar Engineered, while keeping hopeful for the exciting future Volvo has in store.
