Dodge Launches the Powerful New Charger Sedan with 670 HP

It's hard to believe that a year has passed since Dodge first showcased the new Charger. Last March, the automaker unveiled the latest muscle car, highlighting its formidable 670 horsepower electric powertrain. Alongside it, a more affordable Charger R/T variant with 496 hp was introduced but was soon discontinued due to uncertain market conditions.

However, enthusiasts need not worry. Despite a challenging start, Dodge plans to expand the Charger lineup further. The newest version is a four-door sedan that is set to become available within the next few weeks.

Performance and Engineering

The Charger sedan mirrors the coupe's robust specifications, featuring a 100.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack paired with two electric motors, delivering a staggering 670 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque in the Daytona Scat Pack trim. Dodge has not yet confirmed if the R/T variant will be offered for this model. This power allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, matching the performance of the former Hellcat Redeye.

The sedan is equipped with a variety of driving modes, including Sport, Track, Drag, Custom, Drift, Donut, and PowerShot—which provides an additional 40 hp boost for 10 seconds. Additionally, it comes standard with the Fratzonic exhaust system, enhancing the vehicle's auditory and performance characteristics.

With a 400-volt architecture, the Charger sedan offers a range of 241 miles and supports a peak charging rate of 183 kilowatts on DC fast chargers. This enables the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes. A Level 1/Level 2 charging cable is included as standard equipment.

Upcoming Enhancements

For the 2026 model year, both the Charger coupe and sedan will feature the new Track Pack. This package includes large 16-inch Brembo ventilated rotors and red six-piston front and four-piston rear fixed calipers—the most extensive brake system ever offered by Dodge. The Track Pack also comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires mounted on custom 20-inch wheels.

The interior of the Charger sedan boasts a 16.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen equipped with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa voice control, and Dodge's Performance Pages, providing a seamless and connected driving experience.

The exact pricing for the sedan has yet to be announced. Currently, the Charger Daytona R/T coupe starts at $61,590 for the 2025 model year, while the Scat Pack variant is priced at $70,190. It is anticipated that the sedan will be priced above these models.
