2026 Land Rover Defender Retains Iconic Supercharged V-8 Engine

For the 2026 lineup, Land Rover has subtly refreshed the Defender, maintaining the essence of the classic off-roader with only minor aesthetic updates. Notably, the Defender continues to offer its celebrated supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine alongside the newly introduced twin-turbo V-8 Defender Octa, ensuring enthusiasts have powerful options to choose from.

The supercharged V-8, originally developed by Jaguar in the mid-1990s under Ford's ownership, has a long legacy. Introduced in a 5.0-liter variant in 2009, it powered various models across the Jaguar Land Rover range.
