New Toyota Aygo will become an SUV

Toyota has officially announced that the successor to the Aygo hatchback will become a crossover.

The novelty will get an X prefix to the name, and the car's premiere is planned for next month. At the same time, the company has shown the first teaser of the novelty.

The photo shows the rear light, a curved stoplight in a vertical shape like in the Aygo X Prologue concept car. Another shot shows the name of the vehicle - Aygo X.

The novelty will be built on the GA-B architecture, which is an improved version of TNGA-B. There is no official information about the engine. The creation will get petrol units and a hybrid unit. We shouldn't expect an electric version of the Aygo X.

The compact crossover will increase ground clearance, wide wheel arches, big wheels, and plastic dodgers. The car is made exclusively for the European consumer. Assembly work will be done in the Czech Republic, and the main competitors of the Aygo X will be the Kia Picanto, Fiat Panda, and Mitsubishi Space Star.
