It's official: Volkswagen is changing its name

Volkswagen will change its name in the United States.

Voltswagen instead of Volkswagen. The Germans have officially confirmed that they will be changing their name in the U.S. auto market for the electric car segment.

To be more specific, Volkswagen of America will change its name to Voltswagen of America. The rebranding will take place in May. This decision was a change in the vector of the brand, which is now aimed at electric mobility.

The change of name will also coincide with the United States' appearance of a new "green" model - a compact electric crossover ID.4.

Recall, Volkswagen Group will expand its lineup of electric cars: by 2029, the Germans will increase the number of electric vehicles to 70.
