Volvo started recalling nearly 737 thousand cars worldwide
Volvo is conducting a global recall regarding 736,430 cars.
XC40, XC60 and XC90 crossovers, S60 and S90 sedans, and V60, V60 Cross Country, V90, and also V90 Cross Country wagons will go for repairs. This applies to machines that were produced between November 9, 2018 - March 11, 2020. The reason is a malfunction in the operation of the backup brake system (AEB).
Faults were found on AEB tests. In tests, XC60 failed to slow down, knocking off a dummy car on the road. In theory, the “smart” system was supposed to apply an emergency brake when an object was detected, but at speeds of 80 and 130 km/h, the electronics did not work.
