Toyota has presented a new small all-wheel-drive SUV

Toyota has unveiled the brand new compact Yaris Cross SUV, which in the company's lineup is located in front of the C-HR model.

The public debut of the car was supposed to be held in Geneva, but the coronavirus pandemic violated all plans. Because of this, the car was shown online.

The platform of Toyota Yaris Cross is the lightweight TNGA modular base, which provides a sturdy construction, a lower center of gravity and improved handling with noise isolation. The wheelbase is 2.56 m in size. The length of the car is 4.18 m.

First, Toyota Yaris Cross will be sold with a hybrid installation, including 1.5-liter 3-cylinder gasoline aspirated with 80 horses, paired with a compact rear-wheel electric motor and a set of lithium-ion batteries. A total of 118 hp power.

Toyota will start serial production of new products at a factory in the French Valenciennes, and its European sales will begin in the summer of 2021. The rivals of the car are Nissan Juke, Kia Soul, and Mazda CX-3.
