New compact Toyota SUV got more information about itself

Toyota's new compact SUV, which will be made on the Yaris base, will acquire a 1.5-liter engine and all-wheel-drive system.

The Japanese edition of Best Car informs that the basis of the cross is a modular TNGA platform. In length, the car will reach 4.17 m (+ 230 mm compared to the standard Yaris), width - 1.765 m, height - 1.555 m, wheelbase in size will grow to 2.56 m.

The engine of the car will be completely new: the first will be a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder in-line 91-horsepower gasoline engine paired with a CVT. Based on this unit, a hybrid version of the vehicle with an electric motor on the rear axle will appear.

Toyota did not premiere the brand new cross in Geneva in March, as the exhibition had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most likely, the car will be declassified at the end of this year, and it will hit the shelves from 2021.
