Mazda will not release new cars in the next two years
Over the next couple of years, Mazda will not release new models or update existing ones to create the latest architecture.
Nikkei Asian Review writes that Mazda wants a couple of years not to release new cars and update current ones. A similar pause is necessary for the company to prepare the basis for a large-scale update of the model line, which will happen according to the new brand development strategy.
Mazda planned that until 2023 they would develop a brand new rear-wheel-drive base with several in-line 6-cylinder units on gasoline, diesel, and some hybrid power system.
With cars that will be provided with new components and assemblies, Mazda can become a premium brand and easily compete in the market with Lexus and Infiniti.
