Toyota is ready to release a new compact crossover

Gazoo Racing entered the experimental GR86 Future FR Concept at the Super Taikyu endurance race at Okayama International Circuit, swapping its former turbocharged three-cylinder unit for a newly developed 220-hp 2.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-four codenamed G20E. The prototype also features double-wishbone suspension at both axles to test new handling geometries.

Toyota will divide the upcoming Corolla's electrical architecture into four separate groups, enabling the compact car to be offered with pure combustion, traditional hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric powertrains. Toyota has introduced the refreshed Land Cruiser 300 featuring a new 457-hp hybrid powertrain borrowed from the Lexus LX 700h. The traditional gas V6 has been dropped, leaving only the hybrid system and a 3.3-liter turbodiesel in the lineup.
