Volkswagen has to pay an extra 3 billion euros

'Dieselgate' will cost Volkswagen an additional 3 billion euros for the next two years.

The financial director of the concern Frank Witter spoke about this in an interview with newspaper Boersen-Zeitung.

Three years ago, the US authorities found that some Volkswagen diesel cars have software that hides the real level of CO2. As a result, the German auto giant continues to suffer huge losses. Volkswagen paid about $27 billion in fines and lawsuits over the years.

Over the past year, Volkswagen spent on the removal of 'Dieselgate' about 5.5 billion euros, next year payments will amount to 2 billion euros, and in 2020 another 1 billion euros.
