Toyota wants that brand Lexus make luxury yachts

Toyota intends to oblige the brand Lexus to make luxury yachts. The first novelty will go on sale next year.

About this the representatives of the company declared at the Japan International Exhibition of Boats and Yachts. Vice-president of the company Shigeki Tomoyama told that the yacht will be developed on behalf of the marine division of Toyota, as well as the shipbuilding company Marquis-Larson Boat Group.

Most likely, the company will have a ship with an open area on the roof of the wheelhouse, as well as a luxurious cabin, which will be located on the lower deck, where they can easily accommodate a maximum of 15 guests.

The basis of the new yacht will be a prototype Lexus Sport Yacht 2017. This concept is a 13-meter sports cruiser with a body of carbon fiber. This material was made by the method of vacuum infusion, at the same time using a 2-component polyurethane resin. The yacht received a power unit in the form of a pair of improved 5.0-liter V8 from the sports coupe LC 500 with a total power of 897 hp.
