Pikes Peak record: now it is a racing electric Volkswagen I.D. R

Volkswagen I.D. R sports car managed to become the record holder of the track Pice-Peak.

The car, controlled by Romain Dumas, managed to pass the track for 7.57.148 minutes. It turns out that the electric car became better than the car that was run by Sebastien Loeb (the record was set in 2012 on a Peugeot 208 car - 8,13,878 min).

Additionally Volkswagen I.D demonstrated the best time in the environment of electric vehicles. Previously, the result in this category was 8.57,118 minutes.

By the way, only one copy of Volkswagen I.D. was released. The length of the car is 5.2 m, width - 2.35 m, wheelbase - 2.85 m. The appearance of the electric vehicle looks like sports prototypes participating in endurance races ("24 Hours of Le Mans", etc.). ). Volkswagen I.D. R has a huge front splitter and a massive rear wing.
