Mazda CX-4 will no longer be an exclusive

Mazda CX-4 cross-coupe is currently sold only in China, but from 2019 the car is expected in Japan.

The model is made on the basis of CX-5 SUV and her debut was a little over 2 years ago. At that time, Mazda informed that the novelty will be sold only in China, where it is produced. However, the time has come to remove "exclusivity" from the CX-4.

From next year the model will be launched in Japan. The assembly of the car for this market will take place at one of the local enterprises of the company.

What engines will receive CX4 is unknown. The Chinese version is available with Skyactiv-G 2.0 atmospheric engines at 158 hp. and Skyactiv-G 2.5 for 192 hp, running on gasoline. The first unit is provided with 6-stage manual transmission or automatic transmission, the second - only with "automatic" on 6 stages. The car with the 2.0-liter engine has a front-wheel drive, and the 2.5-liter version is supplemented only with the 4WD version.
