Elon Musk gave the go-ahead to the serial Tesla Model Y
Tesla Motors Director finally gave the go-ahead to create a prototype of the newest compact Tesla Model Y SUV.
The car is fully prepared for serial auto production.
The Verge writes that Ilon Mask told his employees that the full-scale mass production of cars will start closer to 2020, although it was previously said that the process begins in 2019.
The new crossover will take the existing base from Tesla Model 3. Part of the technical and stylistic solutions will come from the Model X. For example, these are branded doors behind the 'falcon wings'.
Rumors say that the Tesla Model Y will have two power units (on the front and rear axles), as well as sets of batteries of different capacity.
