BMW advertising is prohibited due to dangerous driving X5 model
The British Committee of Advertising Standards issued a ban on broadcasting on local TV a BMW video clip, which is dedicated to the all-wheel drive system XDrive.
The reason for this behavior of the Committee is "indulging in a quick, dangerous and irresponsible ride".
Auto Express informs that the action of some scenes takes place away from public roads, but it's not "very different from what situations BMW owners face in real life". Another ASA is indignant about the X5 sliding on the dirt on video.
In BMW, they say that their "X5 demonstrates only a small loss of grip", in order to emphasize the technical features of XDrive. The Germans are sure that the cars "were managed in a safe and responsible manner".
