The uBox concept from Toyota can electrify Generation Z

Toyota has cooperated with students at Clemson University’s International Centre for Automotive Research. They tend to develop the uBox concept.

The considered concept features unique design that appeals to Generation Z customers (or people born after 1995).

The unique design of the vehicle includes suicide rear doors, LED daytime running lights and a curved glass roof. The last one is supported by “composite carbon fibber rails”. The rails are bonded with aluminium.

The interior part is highly customizable. You will see removable and reconfigurable seats. They are placed on sliding tracks. The students had a wish to personalize the interior of the vehicle. They envisioned a community on the Web, where owners can propose designs for customized display bezels, air vents and outstanding door trim. The styles can be downloaded and printed out with the help of a 3D printer.

Toyota refused to tell performance specifications. However, it stated that the uBox has an electric powerplant. There also is an assortment of 110-volt outlets. They can be used for powering all things starting from tools and finishing with a laptop.

The concept was designed as a part of an outstanding collaboration called Deep Orange.
