Recall of Nissan Sentra and Leaf: Airbags
4,520 Nissan Sentras and Leafs are facing a recall connected with the passenger airbags.
NHTSA informs that there is a risk of the wiring harness connector detaching from the airbag. This will result in a problem with airbag deployment in case of an accident. The issued cars come from this year’s model year. There are 4,338 Sentras and 182 Leafs affected. The Sentras were produced from February 9 to March 4. The Leafs were built from February 24 to March 23. A stop-sale order has been also issued.
The wiring harness connector will be inspected at the dealerships. The main body harness will be changed along with the airbag module if necessary. At this point there were no any accidents or injuries related to the issue.
