Toyota Yaris WRC Racer will breed Road Vehicle
A new rally vehicle from Toyota will be oriented not only at the racetrack.
The producer will field a rally-prepped Yaris in the WRC in two years. In order to meet the regulations of FIA, the company will have to present no less than 2,500 rally-spec variants to the audience.
The rally vehicle will be originated on the Yaris of the next generation. It will feature a 1.6-litre turbocharged V4 engine which outputs 300 hp. As to the road-going variant, it will probably be equipped with the regular 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 of the Lexus NX. This engine is able to produce 234 hp.
A big rear spoiler, big wheel arches and full aerodynamic transformation are sure to distinct the rally-spec variant from other versions.
Initially the vehicle will be sold on the European market, therefore do not wait to see the hot hatchback in North America. The vehicle’s price will be around 33,900 Euros.
