The Official Information: 2017 Ford Raptor will generate 450 HP

The new model F-150 Raptor from Ford has recalled its eight-cylinder engine in favour of a turbocharged six-cylinder and it is known now how much power it generates.

The vice president for Ford Global Product Development disclosed at a broadcasted interview that the innovated Raptor will be able to generate 450 hp. The power will be produced from the 3.5-litre Eco-Boost six-cylinder powertrain. Currently it generates 380 hp and torque of 460 lb-ft in its most powerful employment.

The information about the amount of torque was not revealed yet, but it is known for sure that the powertrain will produce more than the current 6.2-litre eight-cylinder does (434 lb-ft).

This power boost will make the Raptor significantly faster since the track became 500 lbs lighter because of its aluminium body. The off-road vehicle will also be equipped with a ten-speed automatic gear box, more suspension travel, bigger shocks and terrain select system.

The vehicle’s production will start next autumn.
