The Espace from Renault is claimed not to comply with Emissions Regulations

Renault is facing the claims about the Espace. The vehicle is considered to have nitrogen oxide emissions that are exceeding the Euro 6 regulations by 25 times.

The company made a short statement. It is sure that the University of Bern is using testing that is not compliant with the regulations. According to the automaker, the model under consideration falls under all regulations. The producer is going to work on clarifying conduction of the tests. We remind you that the ADAC tested the model back in August. Then everything was fine. Therefore, the automaker does not believe in the results of the new tests.

The Controversial Environmental Relief (DUH) gave out a report claiming the car to exceed the allowed number of nitrogen oxide emissions. The Espace rides with a 1.6 dCi engine. The Bern University of Applied Sciences conducted the tests. According to the reports, there were nine outstanding measurements. One of them was in DUH’s test cycle and eight others were from the NEDC test cycle.

The DUH claimed the Opel Zafira to have the same problems. This happened sometime earlier in 2015. The model is equipped with a 1.6-litre CDTi engine. The claims were disproven very soon as the automaker made the unusual thing. It put the car on both a 2-roller and 4-roller test bench. This helped to confirm that everything is fine with the vehicle’s emissions. The producer had another test. TÜV Hessen was present during it and confirmed the results. Having done all that, Opel had a right to call DUH’s suspicion false and unfounded.
