Recall of Toyota Rav4 EV Over Tesla Parts

Toyota makes a recall for 2,500 of its Rav4 EVs because of a problem with components provided by Tesla.

An issue with the software can cause the vehicles to shift into neutral inadvertently. This will result in a total loss of power. The automaker’s dealers will fix Tesla’s flawed details, as the producer’s spokesperson told.

The Rav4 EV program came to its end in 2014. From that time Toyota made investments into hydrogen power. Meanwhile, Tesla supports pure electric powerplants. Elon Musk has officially rejected hydrogen powerplants and called them “extremely silly”.

Despite they are not working together any more, Toyota still has 2.94 million Tesla shares. The Japanese producer stated in October of 2014 that it is planning to cut its stake in the brand.
