New Toyota Prius Plug-in will try to have a 30-35 Mile Range

Toyota is applying for one of the greatest criticisms of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid.

A report suggests that the range of the next-gen Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will stand at 30-35 miles. That is a serious improvement in comparison to the model’s current EPA-rated range of 11 miles. The owners of this car had their engines turned on after driving only 6 miles. This fact makes it to be the lowest of all plug-in vehicles marketed in North America.

The next-gen Prius will be presented sometime later in 2015. After that it will reach the market as a 2016 offering. Though, we will see the plug-in hybrid version only a year after.

The latest Chevrolet Volt will already be on the market by that time. This car is expected to receive a minimum of 50 miles of fully electric range. Despite that the model under consideration will not be able to best the new Volt, its 30-35-mile range will place it higher in the list of plug-in car range. It is not clear if the automaker is going to offer value with the new offering or if it is just marketing the vehicle in order to gain credits under zero-emission car mandate of California.
