Mitsubishi will not produce Cars in the U.S.

According to rumours, Mitsubishi stated that it will not make vehicles at its only factory in America.

Not long ago the automaker confirmed that they have finished producing cars at the Normal plant in Illinois. Now its shares jumped by 5%. The president of the company announced that the most significant production sites will be located in Russia, Japan and Southeast Asian Nations. The last ones include Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.

That was not a surprise for industry experts as the automaker is already focused on Southeast Asia more. We remind you that its SUVs and pickups are having increasing sales there. The cars are assembled in the Philippines and Thailand. A plant situated in Indonesia is also at play.

Mitsubishi is searching a buyer of the plant in U.S. who will not dismiss all 900 hourly workers. The company’s president considers that he will find a buyer soon as the American market is growing fast.
