FCA recalls Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 Jeep Cherokee

FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) made a recall for its Jeep Cherokee SUV and Ram 1500 pickup.

The first recall concerns 75,364 Jeep Cherokee SUVs. The company has to check and replace the air conditioning lines. The voluntary recall happened in the result of an investigation. The investigation started because of two complaints. They were filed to federal regulators and dealt with flame and smoke in the motor compartment. After an internal investigation, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles came to the conclusion that the air conditioning lines on some vehicles under consideration have been placed very closely to the motor’s exhaust manifolds. A risk of fire appeared because of this. The automaker has not got any information about accidents or injuries connected with the issue

The second recall affects 65,760 Ram 1500 pickups. The affected vehicles come from the 2015 and 2016 model years. They were developed through the middle of June and the second part of September this year. Dealerships will have to check and replace the rear axle drive shafts or even rear axles. The American producer reveals that it has found out that a supplier cannot have heat-treated the axle shafts in a proper way. This problem may cause them to have increased wear. Finally, they can overheat to illuminating a car’s Anti-lock Brake Set-up warning light.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles knows about one non-injury accident connected to the issue. The automaker recommends all Ram owners whose ABS emergency lamp illuminates to contact their dealership. The cars with the biggest quantity of affects are still in dealer listing.
