Expect VW Microbus EV Concept at the Beginning of 2016

The rumour has it that the VW Microbus EV concept will appear at the 2016 CES (Consumer Electronics Show).

The president and chief executive of the company organizing the show has confirmed this information. He assures that the concept is going to become a “groundbreaking EV”. Shapiro also stated that it will present “the synergy between the Internet of Things” and the automobile construction industry.

The concept is awaited to be introduced during a keynote speech by the head of passenger vehicles at VW. He will outline the automaker’s vision for electric mobility and sustainability. Expect a significant keynote in his speech, concerning the recent diesel scandal of the German producer.

We do not possess much information about the latest Microbus. There are gossips that it will take its inspiration from the Bulli concept.

The 2016 CES concept is believed to be a close preview of a production offering which will be gathered together at the automaker’s Puebla plant located in Mexico starring from 2017. The model will be equipped with an innovated electric powerplant delivering the range between 250-310 miles. The range will depend on driving conditions.
