BMW might be preparing an electric SUV Competitor to Tesla Model X

German paparazzi report about BMW’s plans to launch a completely electric SUV as a direct rival for the coming-soon Tesla Model X.

Almost three month ago the automaker has announced that the 3rd “i” offering will not come out ahead of the end of this decade. Not long ago some juicy gossips about this mysterious car launched for sale near the i3 and i8 appeared. It is said to have the same shape as a pure electric SUV created in America at the producer’s plant in Spartanburg. They put together the offerings with X badge there.

It is specified in the report that the plan needs to be approved. Meanwhile, a BMW spokesperson assured that this report is just a speculation. Though, there is no smoke without fire. If the 3rd offering with i-label receives green light, it will stand in the same row with the Tesla Model X. The last one is set to go on sale sometime later in 2015. Therefore, some time will pass till Bavaria receives an answer to Palo Alto’s completely electric SUV.
