Audi stated that turbo R8 won't see the world in the near future

Audi has declared the already settled turbo R8 won’t be launched anytime soon.

The R8 which is powered conventionally is exclusively available right now supercar second generation with a V10 5.2-liter engine which is naturally aspirated.  Also it come out this will be the one and only combustion engine was offered for a few years, at least. CarAdvice, Jurgen Konigstedt, Audi's chief who developed V6, V8 and V10 engines, said that the performance potential of ten cylinders is enough for now and as a result they are not going to slap on a turbocharged engine just yet.

He specified that the R8's V10 doesn't need the more power given by a turbo, notably since he thinks a car which is naturally aspirated is more sensitive thanks to its sound, throttle reply and the impression it provides when the car revved up to the redline. Nonetheless, there are some accounts showing this planned turbocharged R8 will not utilize the V10 engine as it will supposedly be slotted below the V10 and V10 Plus models to behave as an entry-level variant. The identification of the engine is not acknowledged at this point, but gossip is proposing it's a new twin-turbo V6 or the familiar 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter.

Also Jurgen Konigstedt answered to the question whether the R8 will receive a second gearbox opportunity, but he claimed the supercar will continue with the dual-clutch seven-speed "for the foreseeable future."
