A Speculative Rendering of the Next-Gen Volkswagen CC

Volkswagen CC of the next generation has been digitally envisioned on the C Coupe GTE concept.

The C Coupe GTE concept was shown yesterday. The concept was transformed into a more comfortable Variant offering. The same concept has served as base for a rendering of the next-generation CC. It will probably be released towards the end of the next year. The automaker has already announced that a new Comfort Coupe is in its plans. The coupe will definitely be based on the Passat B8 from the latest generation.

Recent rumours assure that the 2017 CC will be stretched by 4 inches (or 101 mm) in comparison with the regular Passat. At the same time, the sedan trunk opening of the present model might be changed into a liftgate. Besides the 4-door coupe, the CC might also develop a fastback variant. This information was announced by Michael Horn, the Volkswagen of America CEO, in 2014.

There is a possibility that the US-spec CC will be assembled in America or Mexico because of unfavourable exchange rates and high import costs.
