2016 RAV4 Hybrid from Toyota teased, expect it on April 2

Toyota has teased several photos of the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid scheduled to be presented next week at the Auto Show in New York.

A few months ago the automaker phased out the RAV4 EV created together with Tesla Motors. Though, now the producer has announced about their aim to create another eco-friendly variant of the compact crossover. This time the vehicle will adopt the shape of a hybrid. There probably will be some slight cosmetic tweaks for the engine line-up as the taillights have different outlook in comparison with the 2015 MY.

As to technical characteristics, they are unknown yet. It is probable that the company will mount a hybridized Atkinson-cycle 2.5-litre V4 engine, the same as in the Lexus NX 300h. In the last one it is able to generate 194 hp (or 145 kW).

All the details will be available on April 2, when the vehicle under discussion will be officially presented in New York.
