2016 Model X from Tesla was caught on Public Roads
Tesla is setting its third car to arrive on the market.
The Model X crossover is scheduled to kick off by the 3rd quarter of this year. The producer is testing it on public roads. This fact is proved by a video shot in Palo Alto, California. The design seems to be almost the same as the already shown concept’s, but some details are hidden under the camouflage.
The offering had some delays. The automaker even explained the slowdown to its shareholders with the help of letters in the 3rd quarter of the last year. The information in the letters includes facts about the model’s finalization and the testing of Alpha prototypes along with initial builds of the first prototypes of Beta. The company assures that the powertrain for the vehicle is almost finished and promised to present it on Dual Motor drive on Model S. Tesla explains that they decided to use more time for validation tests in order to create the best possible Model X.
The vehicle will be equipped with the brand’s dual-motor-all-wheel drive as regular technology. Moreover, three powertrain options will be offered: a 60 kWh, 85 kWh and 85 kWh Performance package. As to the car’s range, expect it near 300 miles with the 85 kWh battery.
