2015 Volkswagen Touran presented in Geneva

The innovated Volkswagen Touran was presented at the Motor Show in Geneva after its online appearance which happened a week ago.

The new model has grown in length, but at the same time it has slenderized. The car has lost 136 lbs (or 62 kg) thankfully not to the diets, but to the MQB platform. It will be possible to obtain the Touran in both 5- and 7-seat variants. The automaker assures it provides a highest cargo-capacity of 1,040 litres (what makes + 48 litres). The trunk can hold 1,980 litres of luggage in case the rear seats will be folded flat.

The styling should not be discussed too much as the vehicle adopts an evolutionary design with sharper lines. It creates a pleasant look. At the same time the boxy shape suitable for an MPV aiming at a roomy cabin retains. Starting from the first day it will be possible to obtain the R Line with more oomph. It received both interior and exterior innovations.

The producer will offer the new offering with a whole bunch of petrol and diesel engines. There will be a 1.2 TSI generating 110 hp, a 1.4 TSI producing 150 hp and a 1.8 TSI with the output of 180 hp. As to the diesel engines, there will be a 1.6 TDI with 110 hp and a 2.0 TDI which can be possessed both with 150 hp and 190 hp. All engines will be equipped with a start/stop system enabling the car to be up to 19% more fuel efficient than the previous model.

Customers will be lucky to choose between five infotainment systems. The top ones include Google Android Auto, Apple Car Play and MirrorLink. It also will be possible to get an electronic voice amplification system which consists of a microphone mounted at the front and speakers mounted at the back. The system helps to relay speech of the driver or passenger.

Volkswagen will begin taking orders for the innovated Touran in summer. Its deliveries will kick off in the second part of this year.
